Google Announced Video Podcast Support On Blogger

August 28th, 2007 · No Comments

Google recently announced the release of their video and video podcast support for Blogger. This is another option for free video podcast hosting and is actually great news for bloggers who want to upload video content or video podcast on their blog because from now on, uploading videos will be as easy as uploading photos.

I also found some nice tidbits about the new video uploading feature of Blogger that will surely help newbies in podcasting:

  • That Blogger supports adding more than one enclosure to a post. However, to ensure compatibility with popular podcatchers, it is suggested to include only one enclosure per post;
  • That Blogger by default uses Atom feeds while the standard feed for podcasts is RSS 2.0. To go with your own RSS feed, you should go to http://yourblog.blogspot.com/rss.xml; and
  • That Blogger automatically detects the MIME Type for common podcasting file extensions.

The new video uploading feature of Blogger will surely excite many bloggers and probably, some of them will publish their own podcasts in no time.
