Wizzard Media announced that their company has been added as a Featured Provider of podcasts on iTunes. Wizzard can now be found in the Featured Providers area on the homepage of the iTunes Podcast Directory along with other providers such as ESPN, CNN, ABC News and Comedy Central.

Wizzard Media Channel in iTunes provides select group of podcasts hosted by Switchpod, Libsyn and Blast Podcast. The CEO of Wizzard Chris Spencer said that being part of iTunes as Featured Provider is a very strategic accomplishment in Wizzard monetization efforts for podcast publishers. This accomplishment will definitely make an impact in drawing the attention of sponsors, advertisers and press for some of the most exciting new media properties on the internet today.

And I guess that this is one of the initial plans of Wizzard in behalf of their new VP of Sales, Jim Else who recently joined Wizzard to gear up the monetization of podcasts and develop new opportunities in creating strategic sales initiatives.
