Chinese Administration To Release New Rules For New Media Publishing

Due to the rising incidence of false and abusive publications of information and pornography as a result of the proliferation of published materials in the Internet thorough blogging and podcasting, the Chinese administration headed by the director of China’s General Administration of Press and Publications, Long Xinmin stated that they plan to regulate blogging and podcasting in China.

Ximnin together with the other departments in China government are currently working on their new Internet rules that will govern the virtual publishing activities in their country. With China’s more than 137 million web users, they are alarmed to the possible tremendous pressure that unrestricted web publishing may give in the future. However, the Chinese administration said that they want to maintain healthy and easiest environment of web publishing on the premise of netizen’s freedom of expression being fully fulfilled.
