Podtrac, a firm specializing in targeted podcast advertising announced their free online service that will allow advertisers to obtain audience information for both audio and video podcasts according to the demographics of their respective audiences.
Currently, Podtrac have connected approximately 5000 podcasts to appropriate advertisers and was said to index its data to information in Mediamark Research’s Survey of the American Consumer to provide enough information to the advertisers and help podcast producers to prove and support their claims about their existing subscriber statistics.
Though the service of Podtrac may not be as comprehensive as other paid tracking services, Podtrac online service is good enough as a basis of advertisers to reach their target market as well as to support podcaster’s claim on their audiences because Podtrac perform third party measurement services of podcast circulation. One good thing is that the service is free and open to any podcast.
