Veeker, the San Francisco based company has released a mobile video service that can be used by hobbyist, podcasters and individuals to upload and share short video contents globally from their mobile phones. Veeker is currently offering the service at no cost for the person who wants to upload or view the video content in Veeker website. The only cost that may be incurred is the cost of sending MMS message from the mobile phone which depends on the mobile provider.
This is a great free offering because with Veeker, it is now possible to upload and preserve short video content anytime to your personal page, your contacts, or the world even without a computer and Internet connection. This is particularly useful if you phone has limited memory and you need to record several videos. Veeker’s service also becomes handy for capturing any newsworthy event that needs to be uploaded immediately.

The endless applications of Veeker continue to be recognized by the blogosphere. Recently, VeekTheVote.com gained prominence in the recent 2006 U.S. Election as a means to increase civic engagement, citizen journalism, and election protection. Over 750 veeks were submitted in the early days of November coverning a broad cross section of America’s thoughts about the election.
How many different ways can Veeker be used? Besided documenting a few polling place problems on Election Day, I’ve also started using it to share recipes and cooking tips with friends and family.
